What is the Emerald Journey?
The Emerald Journey is a trauma informed and biblically based mentorship program empowering survivors to heal from sexual trauma through the hope, healing, and freedom found in Jesus Christ!
Just like an Emerald must go through a process to become a precious jewel, we must go through a journey of healing to shine brightly in our purpose!
Who is this Emerald Journey for?
This trauma informed program is created exclusively for adult female survivors of sexual trauma and exploitation. This umbrella term may include a history of childhood sexual abuse, molestation, incest, sex trafficking, exploitation, sexual assault, rape, and sexual addiction.
Since we operate completely remotely, we have the opportunity to serve survivors across the nation regardless of their location!
Why should I join the Emerald Journey?
Through this journey, survivors of sexual trauma confront the effects of trauma, dig up the roots of past experiences, and continue the road to healing and freedom--all alongside other overcomers.
We offer access to a nationwide community, 1:1 mentorship, group coaching, & discipleship.
This program provides a safe place for survivors to connect with a healthy community along with others on the same healing journey.
What approaches and models do you use to serve survivors effectively?
1. Grace Empowering Approach: We serve with an understanding that real transformation is motivated by what God has done for us in Christ and not by what we have to do to earn His favor or people's approval. God desires a deep relationship with each of us regardless of our past or even present circumstances. Through Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is our advocate and wonderful counselor who is willing to hold our hand in the healing journey every step of the way with love, truth, and grace. As mentors and leaders, we walk with women in their journey until the shackles shatter. We focus on healing the "roots" (unhealed trauma) versus plucking the "bad fruit"(unhealthy behaviors).
2. Heart Focused Discipleship Model: Heart Focused discipleship brings together brain science, spiritual warfare, and inner healing in a biblically-balanced way. We are fulfilling the Great Commission by implementing a unique and proven model (established by Deeper Walk International) that is helping people experience true, lasting transformation that is biblical, practical, and anchored in the Gospel.
3. A Trauma-Informed Care Approach strives to understand the whole of an individual who is seeking services. When trauma occurs, it affects an individual's sense of self, their sense of others and their beliefs about the world. These beliefs can directly impact an individual's ability or motivation to connect with and utilize support services. The Five Guiding Principles are; safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment. Trauma-Informed Care understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma and promotes environments of healing and recovery rather than practices and services that may inadvertently re-traumatize.
4. Trust Based Relational Intervention:
TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children (and survivors of complex trauma). TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.
5. A Preventative Approach: The Emerald Journey also plays a preventative role in our efforts to fight sex-trafficking, sexual abuse, and other forms of abuse. Traffickers and predators build relationships based on lies and are trained to spot weaknesses which are residue of our past wounds. Victims of sexual abuse are vulnerable targets for offenders. Our desire through this program is not only to bring hope to victims but to provide them with tools to live a healthy life of freedom beyond the completion of the program.

When a survivor schedules an assessment call on our website, a leader will zoom meet with her to discuss her goals, the enrollment process, connect her to resources as needed, & present our program overview. We have the privilege to end our call with prayer and encouragement for each survivor we meet with.
